September is Hispanic Heritage month and that means that plenty of celebrations will be underway. One celebration in particular in the Hub City just fills the community with lots of pride and has people ready for the fun and of course food.

The non-profit organization Fiestas del Llano, Inc. will be hosting their annual Fiesta Patrias festivities. Those festivities will kick off on Saturday, September 16, with a parade right down Broadway Avenue in downtown Lubbock. The location for the lineup will be at the First Baptist Church East parking lot starting at 9 a.m.. According to a social media post registration for the parade is free, the form just needs to be filled out and submitted.

Following the parade down Broadway there will be plenty of things to do all day long as the day is spent celebrating Mexican Independence and Hispanic Heritage. Fiestas del Llano, Inc. did extend an invitation to the entire Lubbock and surrounding areas to enjoy the day together. There will be plenty of food trucks and street food vendors along with regular vendors and musical guests set to perform at this event.

This event was made possible due to a grant from the City of Lubbock as recommended by Civic Lubbock Inc.. Anyone seeking more information of the festivities or wanting to become a regular vendor is urged to contact 806-252-2828 and ask for Zenaida. This event is free to attend and anyone interested in attending is reminded to bring a chair if they plan to stay for the entirety of the event.
