Jackson Mahomes Arrested for Aggravated Sexual Battery
Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Texas Tech University alumni and Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, has been arrested.
Mahomes was booked on Wednesday morning, May 3, 2023, into Johnson County Detention Center. The 22-year-old is faced with a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday. He was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of misdemeanor battery.
The arrest occurred due to an accusation from a woman stating Mahomes assaulted her this past February. The woman is 40-years-old and the owner of Aspens Restaurant. She also accused him of shoving one of the Aspens Restaurant waiters in another incident.
Security footage from the restaurant shows Mahomes kissing the woman while holding her by the neck. He comes up from behind her, grabbing her by the neck and bending her head back for him to kiss her. She also appears to try and push him away. You can view the footage here at your own digression.
Mahomes’ attorney denies the accusations against his client in a statement to KCTV5.
"We have provided law enforcement with the tools and evidence they need to evaluate the claims against Jackson," he said. "Every interaction between people needs to be placed in the proper context. Releasing a short clip of any video does not provide proper context. We have faith in the process and look forward to a swift resolution of the matter."
If Mahomes is found guilty, he could be facing up to a 55-month sentence in Kansas for the aggravated sexual battery conviction.
