If you have ever wanted to experience the Zen of a Japanese garden but can’t afford to travel outside of Texas to do so, there are a few great options in the Lone Star State.

Three gardens in particular caught my eye, and they are each located in a different part of the state. Of course, there are other beautiful Japanese gardens in the state, but the one’s I am focusing on are located in Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.

Each garden has a water feature, beautiful plants, and Japanese-style structures from temples to bridges and things in between.

They are each designed to be a tranquil retreat from the loud and busy city life many of us are accustomed to. You can take a stroll, observe nature, and take a moment to enjoy some peace.

Each of these gardens are also located within larger areas that provide a variety of other gardens to observe including rose gardens, dog parks, tree groves, and more. Plus, you can book special events, photo sessions, and more at most of these locations.

Whether you want to make a trip to visit one of these gardens, or live nearby, I think experiencing a Japanese garden is great to do and can be a wonderful addition to any trips you might already be making to the area.
