Lubbock Resident Shot by BB Gun at Local Park
Taking a stroll through a local park should be a relaxing and pleasant experience, right Apparently, one Lubbock local wasn’t able to experience that due to someone else's rude idea.
While taking a stroll through their neighborhood park, the Lubbock resident decided to take a moment to sit on a bench and enjoy the weather while taking in the park’s pond. Suddenly, they feel a sharp pain on their back.
Turning around to look behind them, they didn’t notice anyone around but found a BB pellet on the ground next to them.

Surprised about the situation and concerned for other’s safety, they took to their neighborhood Facebook page to share their experience. Shocked to see such a thing happen, a few fellow residents recommended calling the Lubbock Police Department to report the incident, in case someone gets injured in the future, so they know it was a recurring event.
Fortunately, no one was hurt this time, but it is never okay to shoot someone, whether it’s a BB gun, paintball gun, or something else. I wouldn’t be surprised if the shot came from an irresponsible and un-supervised child in the neighborhood, but that doesn’t make it okay. Any child with access to a BB gun should understand that shooting at someone, especially without their consent, is not okay.
You might think it’s all fun and games until you shoot someone in the eye or cause some other injury.
It reminds me of the recent incident of a cat getting shot with a bow and arrow. There are far too many people out there with these tools that should not be trusted with them. Please be sure to educate your children on the safety required to handle such weapons, or don’t give one to them at all if they cannot be held responsible.
