It seems like house plants have been growing in popularity recently with more exposure to a variety of species, care tips, and more online. From succulents to fiddle leaf figs, there are so many different types of plants that you can keep in your home that all have different looks and needs to fit your life.

I’ve always been a fan of keeping plants around and recently decided to grow my collection. When I decided this, I came across a Lubbock business that I hadn’t seen before.

The Dutch House of Plants is an amazing plant shop that is located in house-turned-business at 3413 49th Street. It is a gorgeous 3,000+ square feet of so many different house plants, pots, décor, and more.

Each room is full of stunning plants from tiny two-inch cactuses to beautiful large ZZ plants, and more. There is also a workshop room where they host special events each week. From build-you-own terrarium classes to plant bingo, they offer so much fun stuff.

They also offer opportunities for photographers to come in after hours for photo shoots.

The shop was founded by Chelsea Kidder who runs it with the help of her mom, Ellen. The name ‘The Dutch House of Plants’ actually comes from the fact that Ellen is originally from the Netherlands. They are both incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and willing to help with any plant-related questions you might have.

When you visit, you might also run into their adorable shop-dog, Turkey.

They opened this shop in 2023 and offer exterior and interior container garden design along with all the products and events available in the shop. They have a combined professional experience of 10 years working with plants, and it absolutely shows in their work.

Chelsea told me they are also currently planning an expansion to add even more options to their shop including indoor herb gardens.

Overall, this is a beautiful shop that I am so happy to have come across. You can find more information about them on their official website thedutchhouseofplants.com or on their social media @the_dutch_house_of_plants.
