The Silent Wings Museum is hosting a Veterans Day event all day on Saturday, November 11th, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event includes a remembrance ceremony, a documentary film showing, afternoon educational activities, and a Big Band performance in the evening. The all-day event is also free to the public, including the performance.
The evening performance is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and features the local Big Band Finessence, as well as swing dance performances from the local group Social Dance Lubbock.
Prior to the band’s performance, Social Dance Lubbock will be hosting a swing dance lesson starting at 5:30 p.m. This is your chance to learn some move that you can practice along with the band during the resto of the evening.
The dance group will also be performing along with a couple of the songs, so you can see a glimpse of what swing dance looks like in a performance setting. The group will also be social dancing throughout the event as well.
Both the Silent Wings Museum and Social Dance Lubbock are often hosting or being a part of events around town. So, keep an eye out for future events on the Silent Wings Museum website or the Social Dance Lubbock Facebook page.
