If you love drinks and candy this new spot now open in Lubbock is going to be right up your alley.

Freeze-dried candies have taken over and people are loving it. One of the co-owners of Sub-Zero Bites & Sips, Sasha, loved them so she wanted to start making her own. She partnered up with Sean to give a place locally for people to enjoy.

Freeze-dried candy is candy that has been freeze-dried.

According to Freeze Dried Candy, "This involves freezing the candy and then removing all of the water and moisture from it, leaving only pure sugar crystals behind. The resulting sweets look similar to the candy you started with, but they usually expand in size and are lighter in color. Their texture becomes a lot crunchier too, because there's no moisture inside to keep everything soft and chewy."

Sub-Zero Bites and Sips offers more than 30 selections of freeze-dried candy, gourmet sodas, Italian sodas, flavored waters, urban tea and so much more.

They always have a lot of regular candies like Skittles, Sour Skittles, Fruit Roll-Ups, Jolly Ranchers, Salt Water Taffy, Nerds, Peach Rings, Watermelon rings and more every single day. Every day they will also offer a new candy for people to try as well. They even have some that are sugar-free.

From there Sasha wanted to add to their line of drinks because she used to work at Sonic and loved making drinks. She always dreamed of opening a soda shop so she wanted to add that with the candy.

Now they have a wide range of options like gourmet sodas, Italian sodas, tea, lemonade, flavored water and Lotus. They offer sugar-free drinks as well.
