Lubbock Meals On Wheels Needs Your Help This Christmas
Every year there are so many people in need around the community. Meals on Wheels is a local nonprofit that does a big chunk to help those in need.
That is why they started an annual Senior Secret Santa program. What they do is have their clients turn in a wish list for Christmas. They are limited to two items/$40 total value.
Lubbock Meals on Wheels is a private, non-profit organization that prepares and delivers hot, nutritious lunches, each weekday, to over 900 people in Lubbock and Wolfforth, helping people remain at home, well-fed, and independent. They also do other programs around the year like this one.
Then the community is invited to adopt LMOW clients and shop for their Christmas wishes. This year, over 850 of their clients have turned in wish lists.
So how do you do it? The first step is to get an ornament with the client’s wish list. Once you have shopped, you will return your items to Lubbock Meals on Wheels no later than November 28th, 2023. LMOW elves will bag up all the gifts and prepare them for delivery.
This is such an amazing gift because a lot of these clients will not get any Christmas cheer or will be alone during the holidays. They look forward to this every year and it keeps getting bigger.
They are also looking for people to deliver the gifts if you can't afford to buy one or just want to help in a different way. You can adopt a Lubbock Meals on Wheels client for Christmas by seeing them at 2304 34th Street or calling 806-792-7971.
