A Lubbock staple is adding another location to the coast.

After vacationing on the Emerald Coast off of Florida for the last six years, the Robbins family is bringing their new location there.

Arnis and Mallory Robbins, who co-own Evie Mae’s Pit Barbecue in Wolfforth, Texas, will open their third Evie Mae’s Pit Barbecue in mid-April in Miramar Beach in the YOLO building across from Seascape Resort.

Evie Mae's is named after their now 11-year-old daughter, Evelyn Mae. She was 1 when they started the business. They also have a 7-year-old son, Jack.

The Robbinses started serving up barbecue in 2015 out of a trailer and then moved into a brick-and-mortar location in Wolfforth in 2016.

But Evie Mae’s is moving forward and thriving in Texas and will soon be doing the same in Destin.

After being introduced to the owner of YOLO, who still owns the building, the Robbinses signed a lease in October and have been busy renovating the building ever since.

Since about December, the Robbinses have been working to get the place renovated. They have to commute 1,000 miles to do the remodel.

Do not worry Lubbock this will not affect either location open here but if you travel to Florida you will have a chance to enjoy your favorite barbeque there.

Congrats Evie Mae's this is huge!!  You can find out more about them on their website.

You can also visit their two locations in Texas: 217 Unit 1 Highway 62/82, Wolfforth, TX, and 11302 Slide Rd, Lubbock, TX 79424. They serve food Wednesday through Saturday.
