You may have seen an uptick in news stories over the last couple of weeks about COVID-19 cases going up in some parts of the nation. The uptick in cases has caused the media and in some cases, businesses and local governments, to start questioning whether or not COVID-19 precautions like social distancing and masking need to be put back into place.

Mask Mandates Return In Some Areas

Just this week, Lionsgate Studios in California asked employees to begin wearing masks on some floors in response to staff members testing positive for COVID. Rutgers University and Morris Brown College have both issued mask mandates for their students and staff. Morris Brown College insisted the mask mandate would be in place for two weeks. Morris Brown College is also encouraging students to socially distance. According to The Hill, Kaiser Permanente has started to require staff, patients, and visitors to wear masks.

And in Texas, a school district has closed for a week following staff COVID-19 infections.

The debate on what has been dubbed COVID 2.0 has raged on social media with some conservatives posting the message, "We Will Not Comply!", after Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green took to X, formally Twitter, to post the following according to The Hill:

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) spoke out against the news from Morris Brown College, writing on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, “Americans have had enough COVID hysteria. WE WILL NOT COMPLY!”

Mask Mandates in Texas?
