David Glasheen Announces Campaign For District 3 Lubbock City Council
David Glasheen has announced that he will run for the District 3 Lubbock City Council seat being vacated by Mark McBrayer who announced his own campaign for Mayor of Lubbock last week. With McBrayer running for Mayor, the District 3 seat opens for an election to fill the rest of McBrayer's term.
Glasheen last ran for office in 2022 in an unsuccessful bid to win the Republican nomination for Texas House District 84. Carl Tepper went on to win that race in a runoff.
In a press release last week, Glasheen said that many people had approached him about running for the District 3 seat. Glasheen said his top 3 priorities "will be public safety, infrastructure, and limited government".
“Many people in the community have approached me and asked me to run to represent District 3.” Glasheen said. “I volunteer to serve — and to be an advocate for our community’s conservative values. As your representative, my top three priorities will be public safety, infrastructure, and limited government.”
According to the press release, Glasheen was born and raised in District 3. Glasheen is married and the couple have three children.
Election Day for local races is May 4th, 2024.
