Many Lubbock residents are ready for those warm sunny days and summer barbecues but before we head into summer enjoy a burger with local first responders. The annual Burgers & Badges event will be held in June and gives the public the opportunity to get to know their local first responders on a more personal level.

This event has been a staple every year for the community to break bread, or buns, and enjoy the company of those that serve the community. This is the third time the Burgers & Badges event has been held and has had a very high turnout since it began back in 2021.

There will be plenty of games, bounce houses, music even free food such as hamburgers, chips, and drinks to the 1000 people at the event. Plenty of first responders will be on the scene of this fun opportunity to get to know the community and you can't have first responders without their vehicles.

The Burgers & Badges event will be held at Safety City in Clapp Park from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on June 1, 2023. Dogs will be welcomed to this event but they must be well behaved and on leashes at all times. Local law enforcement agencies that will be present at Burgers & Badges will include:

  • Lubbock Police Department
  • Texas Tech Police Department
  • Lubbock Christian University Police Department
  • Lubbock County Sheriff's Office
  • Texas Department of Public Safety
  • Lubbock ISD Police Department
