It's still Summer, for those of you that haven't stepped outside, in the Hub City and that means we are still going strong as the Buddy Holly Center Summer Showcase continues.

Meet the Band

This week performing on the main stage at the Buddy Holly Center Summer Showcase is none other than Cameron James Smith and the Band Monarch. Te band members include none other than the talented Cameron James Smith himself on the guitar and vocals, the triple threat Riley Blacksten (on sax, keys, and vocals), Connor Smithy (percussion), and Creighton Smith (bass guitar). These four come together to play a variety of music genres such as country, rock, jazz, metal, pop and gospel as well as some of their own original music.

We Got the Heat Now Here's the Beat!

Like every week I had to give this group a listen and see what journey I would take mentally this week. Cameron James Smith and the Band Monarch's sound is incredible, it's just smooth like a very fine whiskey from an expensive crystal glass. Their sound is just so calming that once I made it through that smooth layer I was just transported to senior year of college dancing in the middle of nowhere at a four-way stop with some of my best friends. Just some kind of look back at amazing memories made with random people you met through fate as you reminisce about the lives you've led together up until that point. Also this is the first time I have experienced relaxing country music that made me lose track of time in a good way.
