Holidays on the Homefront At the Silent Wings Museum
On Saturday, December 16, the Silent Wings Museum will be hosting a special event with activities for the whole family. Holidays on the Homefront will take place on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. in the Hangar Gallery and admission could be free for those who donate to the Community Outreach team. More on that a bit later.
During Holidays on the Homefront, activities such as making gingerbread houses, paper snowflakes and chains, paper dreidels, and glider ornaments will be available to people of all ages. Guests will also be able to walk through the Timeline Gallery and explore the design and building of the CG04A glider that only flew during World War II.
So how can you get in for free? Through December 17th the Silent Wings Museum will offer free admission to anyone who donates the following items:
- Sleeping bags (blankets are not preferred)
- Hand/feet warmers
- Hats
- Gloves
- Scarves
- Socks
- Shoes
- Coats
- Thermals
- Hygiene products
The Community Outreach Team partners with the Salvation Army and Open Door to help provide for the homeless.
