Man Who Sent Victoria’s Secret Underwear to Lubbock Minor Charged with Child Sex Crimes
An Illinois man has pleaded guilty for producing child pornography. His case stems from several incidents in 2025 that involved contacting minors on the gaming platform Roblox and the social media app Snapchat.
He Asked for Explicit Videos In Exchange for Gifts
The first victim that Illinois-native James Childress encountered was a 13-year-old from Lubbock. The National Human Trafficking Hotline pinged Childress as a potential criminal in March 2025. His online information was then sent to the FBI branch in Lubbock.
It was discovered that Childress had learned of the minor's Lubbock address and sent them unsolicited packages. These packages included cookies, stuffed animals, slippers, and Victoria's Secret underwear.
When questioned by investigators, the 13-year-old victim stated that she met Childress online and via the social media platform Snapchat. When authorities viewed Childress' Snapchat message history, they found more messages between him and the child. They also found messages from Childress to a friend of the victim, also a juvenile.
Childress would request explicit images from both minors by promising to send them gifts in exchange.
The juvenile friend was living in Hereford and confirmed that Childress would ask her for sexually explicit photos and videos. Childress' message history included additional contact with minors from whom he would request explicit videos.
Childress Pleads Guilty
James Childress pleaded guilty on Thursday, July 16, 2026, and faces a prison sentence of 15 to 30 years for production and attempted production of child pornography.
