Lubbock Man Charged with 29 Counts of Child Pornography
A Lubbock man was indicted on multiple charges of Child Pornography. The Lubbock Police Department was working together with the FBI back in April when they first made contact with 25-year-old Ian Meyer.
When police officers and FBI agents showed up to Meyers home they searched his phone and were able to get him to agree to an interview at the FBI Field Office. During the interview is when Meyer admitted to authorities that he had viewed and distributed multiple files containing videos and images of child sexual abuse.
KAMC news reports that Meyer was arrested on June 22 near Boston Avenue and 55th Street by the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office. Meyer was charged with one count of Receipt and Distribution of Child Pornography and a total of 18 counts of Distribution of Child Pornography. Along with those charges Meyer was charged with 10 counts of Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography by Lubbock County.
As per the publishing of this article Meyer is currently still being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $175,000 bond. If convicted on all charges Meyer could possibly face up to life in prison with a very extreme fine and would also have to register as a sex offender.
