Enjoy Beans, Cornbread, And Music At Hospice Of Lubbock Fundraiser
It's been rainy and cold lately but nothing will warm you up like one magical fruit and bread combo especially when it's for a good cause. Beans and cornbread!
For the 35th year in the Hospice of Lubbock is hosting their annual fundraiser that fills up everyone's tummies while helping out those in need. The Mayors' Beans and Cornbread Luncheon allows the Hospice of Lubbock to raise funds. Those funds then go towards people in hospice care that are part of the 19 surrounding counties that are unfunded or underfunded. Hospice of Lubbock is also the only non-profit hospice care that is faith-based and caters to children and adults.
This fundraising luncheon will feature musical performances by various singers such as The Caldwell Collective Band, Jason Fellers, Butch Avery, Kassidy King, Dustin Garrett, and John Sprott. This will also be the final Mayor's Beans and Cornbread Luncheon but that doesn't mean the Hospice of Lubbock will stop serving the community. Dr. Jeremy Brown did state that the non-profit was still committed to providing hospice care to anyone regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
The final Mayors' Beans and Cornbread luncheon will be on Wednesday, March 20, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. Guests will received a full plate of delicious beans and cornbread with all the fixings for just $20. Those that attend will also be entered in to win various prizes. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Hospice of Lubbock, 806-795-2751, the Covenant Health Foundation, 806-725-6089, or online.
