That's right, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller voiced his concern after the state has seen a disappointing chain of restaurant closures and other operational challenges. On top of this, there is an alleged low cattle inventory that serves as a sign for a collapse in quality beef demand.

Why is Beef Becoming More Scarce in Texas?

As pitmasters across the state continue to scale back or even close their doors for good due to rising beef prices, Commissioner Miller identified a total of four areas that must be incentivized for local ranchers:

  • Further expand grazing access
  • Strengthen market transparency
  • Implement mandatory Country of Origin Labeling to restore consumer trust

Miller had this to say when explaining the decline in quality beef across Texas:
