Texas Tech Opening A New Facility In DFW

Texas Tech is expanding its presence across the Lone Star State with a new facility that will open in the Metroplex.

On Wednesday, April 3 from 11am to 6pm, Texas Tech University DFW will host a grand opening of a brand new facility in Irving at 4201 State Highway 161. Texas Tech will offer tours of the facility in order to highlight some of the features.

Tours will include classroom space, reception space, and the conference center.

According to a press release, the open house is an opportunity for educational partners, students and alumni to discover how the facility can benefit all.

The open house is an opportunity for business and community leaders, educational partners, Texas Tech alumni and prospective students to discover the many resources and partnership opportunities through Texas Tech Online at Texas Tech DFW, including the innovative 10K Degree Completion Program.

The Texas Tech Blarney Stone

Did you know Texas Tech University is home to a piece of the Blarney Stone? According to legend, the stone was discovered by a group of engineers. After doing testing on the stone, it was discovered to be part of the Blarney Stone. On St. Patrick's Day 1939, Texas Tech unveiled the stone. Visitors can find it in front of the old Electrical Engineering Building.
