The Red Raiders start the first regular match of the season as they prepare to face the Wyoming Cowgirls on August 28.
Five matches this season will be against teams that Texas Tech has never faced before in program history, including Wyoming, Michigan, and Cornell.
Texas Tech will finish the season on November 27 against West Virginia, and you can view the full 2026 season schedule on the Texas Tech Athletics website.
How Did Texas Tech Volleyball Do Last Year?
Last year had some hurdles for the women's volleyball team as they ended the season at just 10-20 overall. After losing 16 of the 18 conference matchups in 2025, Texas Tech is looking for a massive comeback season. Could 2026 be the year?
Maggie Boyd Signed to Texas Tech
In hopes to bolster the Red Raider volleyball roster this season, Texas Tech announced the signing of four-time AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Beach All-American Maggie Boyd to the team back in May.
Boyd joins Texas Tech as a transfer from UCLA with a collegiate career of over 125 wins for the Bruins. Not to mention that she's the seventh player in NCAA history to earn "four AVCA Beach All-America First Team honors and is fourth all-time at UCLA in career wins," according to Texas Tech Athletics.
Boyd's accomplishments also include 2026 AVCA Beach Player of the Year and 2026 National Champion.
Let's see if this is the kind of talent needed to propel Texas Tech volleyball to new heights!
