Three phenomenal players on the Texas Tech women's golf team were recently recognized for their skills on and off the green by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

The WGCA announced their All-American Scholar Team on Monday, naming over 1,500 terrific female athletes across the nation. Wouldn't you know it, but three Red Raiders were among the list of names. Let's hear it for Maja Ambroziak, Cameron Freund, and Danique Stokmans!

What Is the All-American Scholar Team?

In order to be recognized for this amazing honor, students must impress both in their respective sport as well as in the classroom. You may remember back in June when three star softball players from Tech were announced to the All-American academic team.

The specific criteria that grants eligibility onto the scholar team is that they must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher, they must be an amateur and on the team's roster for the entirety of the season, and they must have played in at least half of the university's games during the season.

Texas Tech continues to make waves in both the academic and the athletic world!

Cameron Freund, also a senior, ranked third on the team last season with a scoring average of 74.2 over 36 rounds. It was also a momentous season for her after she recorded her first two Top 20 finishes of her career, once at the Sam Golden Invitational and another at the 2026 Big 12 Championship where she tied for 19th both times.
