Two West Texas Teens Engage Police in Vehicle Pursuit
Two teens engaged police in a vehicle pursuit that started in Garza County. The chase reportedly began Tuesday, November 11, morning when officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety tried to stop a vehicle.
KAMC news reports that the vehicle fled from Department of Public Safety officers in Garza County after officers attempted a routine traffic stop at 8:40 a.m.. The vehicle made its way into Lubbock County where Department of Public Safety officers were able to get some assistance from the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office.
The vehicle chase did come to an end near South Loop 289 and Slaton Road in the 1100 block of East Slaton Highway. Both suspects, driver and passenger, were arrested and taken into police custody but were said to be two teenagers. One of those suspects arrested was a 17-year-old Keith Flanigan and the identity of the other teenage suspect has been withheld due to them being a minor.
Flanigan was transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Evading Arrest Detention. As per the publishing of this article, Flanigan is currently being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
