United Family Launches Statewide Fundraiser For Wildfire Relief
The United Family of stores, including Market Street, Amigos, and United Supermarkets announced on Friday that they would launch a new fundraiser statewide to help bring relief to those in the Panhandle of Texas who have been impacted by the wildfires that are still burning.
According to United, the fundraiser will run March 8-23 and customers will be able to donate at the register when checking out. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Amarillo Area Foundation.
The United Family will also match the first $20,000 donated by guests. In addition to the fundraiser, United continues to deliver supplies to the area.
According to the United Family, the Smokehouse Creek Fire, now the largest wildfire in Texas history, ignited 14 miles from the United Supermarkets in Borger, Texas. United hopes to continue to support the families in the Texas Panhandle.
“To all of those whom these wildfires have impacted, I want you to know we are here for you,” said Sidney Hopper, president of The United Family. “We have supported the people of the Texas panhandle for decades and will continue to support them now. We hope that these funds will help this region on the road to recovery.”
The fundraising campaign will run in all United Supermarkets, Amigos, Market Street, and Albertsons locations in Texas and parts of Eastern New Mexico.
Please donate if you can.
