Have you ever been frustrated by the City of Lubbock and the services provided by the City? Have you ever wondered why trash isn't being picked up on certain days or what even happens with the trash when it's picked up?
Well, you can learn the answers to those questions and more by applying for the Lubbock 101 Citizens Academy.
The Lubbock 101 Citizens Academy is a way for citizens to gain a behind the scenes look into the services provided by the City of Lubbock and how municipal government works.
According to a press release, citizens who take part in the classes will learn more about the inner workings of the city, tour several departments, and have "field days" at numerous locations including the airport.
Lubbock 101 is a citizens academy designed for residents to learn more about their city, its operations and all the services it provides. The program consists of five classroom sessions, tours of several City of Lubbock departments and three Saturday morning field days to the City’s Fleet Services, the South Water Treatment plant and a Public Safety Field Day at the airport.
Lubbock 101 starts Thursday, March 28, 2024 and ends on May 4. Graduates will be recognized at the Lubbock City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
You must apply for enrollment, which is limited. The application deadline is March 1. Get the schedule, and application at mylubbock.us/Lubbock101.
