Texas Tech Red Raider Football exorcised some demons as they jumped out to a 14-0 first half lead and never looked back in a 39-14 victory over the Baylor Bears in Waco on Saturday night. The Red Raiders improved to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 Conference play while Baylor falls to 2-4 and 1-2 in conference play.

Complementary football was the name of the game for the Red Raider Offense as Tahj Brooks ran in, through, and around the Bears defense carrying 31 times for 170 yards and a score. Brooks is on pace for eclipsing 1,000 yards this season and already has rushed for 688 yards. Behren Morton and the passing attack were efficient as the Red Raiders were 19-26 passing for 180 yards and 3 scores. Tight End Baylor Cupp scored twice while Myles Price had 10 catches to pace the attack.

Morton found Coy Aiken on a 13 yard pass on Tech’s opening drive to start the scoring for a 7-0 lead. After forcing a Baylor punt the Red Raiders went down the field and Morton found Cupp for a 16 yard score to make it 14-0.

The Red Raider Defense stymied the Baylor offense and held the Bears to only 17 yards rushing for the game. Baylor found success through the air, but only after the game was all but decided when Tech held a 24-3 lead in the 3rd quarter.

Tech will host Kansas State next Saturday night in Lubbock for homecoming in a sold out game at Jones AT&T Stadium.
