Texans, Beware! These Are the 10 Most Hacked Passwords
Cyber attacks across Texas are a growing problem, not just in our home state but across the nation. How many times have we been told to create new and stronger passwords? It sounds like a complete chore but, of course, we know that it's for a good reason; we don't want to get hacked!
Part of having a good front on cyber attacks is having a strong password. Unfortunately, there are lots of individuals who don't take it seriously, and it can result in a messy situation.
Turns out, changing your password constantly is not only effective but also, not using some of these passwords. According to SafetyDetectives.com, a cybersecurity firm, these are the top ten most hacked passwords:
- 123456
- password
- 12345678
- 1234567
- qwerty
- 654321
- 111111
- 123123
- 1234567890
- iloveyou
Are any of these your passwords? Now would be a good time to change it! Some of these don't even look like anyone put any effort into them! Some of these passwords are not only the most hacked, but they're also some of the most common passwords out there.
At my job, we are constantly asked to change our passwords- it seems like a pain the butt, mainly because once I do change it, it takes awhile for me to remember it! Also, I'm running out of ideas- an number combinations!
But that's the whole point! We don't want anyone to hack our password; so while it may seem like no fun to have to constantly be changing your password- just know that you could be safer with a complicated password rather than with one that is not only common, but super easy to hack.
So, change your password and don't end up on Jimmy Kimmel accidently giving out your password for the world to see!
