‘Star Wars’ Actor John Boyega Amid Hundreds Evacuated During London Theater Scare
John Boyega was one of hundreds evacuated from the Old Vic Theatre in London on Saturday (May 27) following a security alert.
The actor, who appears as the lead in the play Woyzeck as well as stars as Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, was evacuated along with the rest of the cast, crew and entire audience "as a precaution," according to a tweet posted by the Old Vic.
"We have been evacuated as a precaution; audience safety is our priority. We are liaising with the Met Police," read the tweet.
TIME reports that "approximately 20 minutes later," the theater confirmed that authorities did not find anything suspicious within the venue.
"Following Met Police advice, this evening's performance will go ahead as planned," the Old Vic staff tweeted after the security threat was cleared.
The scare comes just days after the Manchester Arena was bombed during the conclusion of Ariana Grande's May 22 concert, in which 22 people were killed and countless others injured.
