No one ever wants to find themselves in an active shooter situation, but sadly it could happen to any of us. That's why understanding how to be prepared and how to handle an active shooter situation is vital.

On Thursday evening Texas Law Shield will hold an informational class about active shooter situations. The class, entitled Active Shooter: Getting Out Alive, will be hosted at SS Outfitters located on Highway 114 East of Levelland and West of Reese. The class begins at 6:00 p.m.

According to the description of the class on Facebook, those who attend, and it's free to attend by the way, will hear from law enforcement professionals and attorneys.

“Active shooter” is a common phrase in the news these days. It is horrible we must be prepared for these types of events, but it is a reality of the world we live in today. If you ever find yourself experiencing the nightmare of an active shooter situation, you don’t have to be a helpless victim or an easy target.
