Update: Injured Driver Rescued by First Responders is Identified
Update: The Lubbock Police Department has identified the man injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday night.
The driver has been identified as 63-year-old Larry Lindsey. He was found trapped in the driver seat and as reported, local firefighters used the Jaws of Life to get him out.
Afterwards, Lindsey was taken by EMS to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and he was last reported in critical condition Tuesday afternoon.
Police have not yet revealed how the accident occurred.
Original Story: The Lubbock Police Department reports that officers responded to a one-vehicle accident Monday night at around 10 p.m. in the 1100 block of 82nd Street.
A pickup truck reportedly struck a utility pole in the area and Lubbock Fire Rescue had to use the Jaws of Life to get him out of the wreckage.
The driver, who has not been identified, is said to have suffered moderate injuries. Police are still investigating how the accident occurred.
