On Thursday, February 28th, Lubbock Police Department Crash Investigators will be temporarily shutting down several roads to conduct crash investigations.

According to an LPD press release, the intersection of Slide Road and 13th Street will be shut down starting at 9:15 a.m. as investigators map the area of the fatal crash that happened on Sunday.

All southbound traffic on Slide will be diverted east or west onto 11th Street. Southbound drivers can access businesses at 13th and Slide by going west on 11th Street and taking Albany Avenue to 13th Street. Northbound traffic on Slide will be diverted east to 16th Street to Vicksburg Avenue and then west onto 11th Street to Slide.

The closure is expected to last until 11 a.m.

Once investigators have finished with that intersection, they will move on to Quaker and 32nd Street to map out a crash that happened last Thursday. North and southbound traffic on Quaker will be diverted to 31st and 33rd Streets.

This closure is expected to last from around 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Investigators will then move on to the 8100 block of 19th Street near Alcove Avenue to investigate a crash that happened between a bus and a pedestrian back on February 12th. Eastbound 19th Street may be temporarily shut down to one lane while investigators work in the area.

The times of these closures may vary as investigators move to each scene.
