The 2019 70 mile Core Power Lubbock Ironman race will begin this weekend.

Those who have registered for the triathlon must attend an athlete briefing on Saturday (June 29) at 4 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

Then, on Sunday (June 30), athletes are required to meet at Dunbar Lake at 5:30 a.m. and the race will begin at 6:30 a.m.

The first portion will be a 1.2 mile swim, then it’s 56 mile bike ride followed with a 13.1 mile run throughout Lubbock.

Later that day, an awards ceremony will be held Sunday evening at 6 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center and it will be announced who qualified for the 2019 Ironman
World Championship that will take place in Nice, France.
