It’s game week in Lubbock, and this Saturday, Red Raiders are taking their spirit to a whole new level—one mustache at a time. In honor of standout linebacker Jacob Rodriguez (#10), Texas Tech students and fans are coming together for a community-driven show of support that’s as bold as it is fun: the “Fearless Mustache” movement!

Mustaches, Community, and Red Raider Pride

From 8:00 to 11:00am, fans heading to Jones AT&T Stadium can swing by the Coca-Cola tent in the west tailgating lot, where Lubbock Game Changers will be handing out mustaches before kickoff. Whether you wear a real one, stick one on, or draw one yourself, the idea is simple—fill the stands with hundreds of “Fearless Mustaches” as Texas Tech takes on #8 BYU in one of the most anticipated matchups of the season.

And if you can’t make it to the tent? No problem. Fans across Lubbock are encouraged to craft their own versions at home. The goal is for Jones AT&T Stadium to look like the world's largest Tom Selleck look-alike contest!

ESPN College GameDay Gets in on the Fun

As if the excitement wasn’t already sky-high, ESPN College GameDay will be live from Lubbock that morning. Fans standing behind the broadcast crew will receive custom “Fearless Mustache” t-shirts, courtesy of Rhett Butler, president of Lubbock Game Changers, and Tom Collins, host of Sunrise LBK on KFYO.

Rhett Butler says this is exactly the kind of event that captures the heart of Lubbock:

“This is all about community spirit and having fun together. Lubbock Game Changers is proud to back an initiative that celebrates both the team and the fans who make game day so special.”
