Lubbock Florist Teams Up With Covenant Children’s for a Good Cause
Did you know that flowers can actually lower stress, promote relaxation, and boost your mood? Researchers at Texas A&M University have found that "flowers can help you achieve a more optimistic outlook on your life, bringing you both pleasing visual stimulation and helping you to increase your perceived happiness."
If this doesn’t make you want to run to the florist, then what if I told you that by purchasing a bouquet you would be helping children in need?
Covenant Children's has just five more days of their Champions for Children fundraising campaign. Their main initiative is to build a new oncology floor that incorporates a school to ensure that critically-ill children do not fall behind in their classes during treatment.
They've partnered with area businesses including House of Flowers to raise funds to continue their life saving work with kids here on the South Plains. What you may not realize is that Covenant Children’s is the only licensed freestanding children's hospital between Albuquerque and Fort Worth. This is a vital resource to parents of these children.
House of Flowers has a long history of supporting local charities and was eager to join in on these efforts. They have created a gorgeous bouquet specifically designed for this fundraiser and 10 percent of the proceeds go to this campaign. However, Manager Justin Hughes notes that your contribution can go even farther.
"You have the opportunity to leave a custom contribution amount on top of your purchase and all of those donations will go back to Champions For Children," Hughes said.
Whether you're purchasing a floral arrangement for National Administrative Professionals’ Day on Wednesday or for that special someone in your life, consider gifting this Champion For Children’s bouquet and make a difference in our community.
