Lubbock has always been a city where community and entrepreneurship thrive, and nothing showcases that better than our local female-owned businesses. Recently, we asked locals to share their favorite stores, restaurants and businesses that are owned and run by women, and the shout-outs came pouring in! These incredible businesses highlight the talent and dedication of the strong, ambitious women who make Lubbock great.

Starting strong, Reid it Right Construction, LLC gave a shoutout to The Boxing Club and owner Miss B, proving that empowerment comes in all forms, from fitness to community. My friend and future Lubbock mayor Larry Simmons added some flair with two artistic and natural gems: Tumbleweed Botanicals and Broadway Contemporary Gallery, perfect for anyone looking for unique finds or creative inspiration.

If you’re in the market for style and eyewear, April Tomlinson has you covered with Pro Style Optical and its owner Sylvie Putman! For coffee enthusiasts, Maricruz Mecalco swears by Latte Amor. I looked for an address for them, but couldn't find one.

When it comes to food, Lubbockites were all about shining a light on the best grub in town! Stan Brewer can’t get enough of Cast Iron Grill owned by the always smiling Teresa Stephens!

If I get a pick my personal hands-down favorite female owned business in town, it would be my friend Tracee Brown and her crew at Jazz A Louisiana Kitchen! As a matter of fact, one of her employees chimed in and said, "Tracee started as a waitress over 35 years ago and has been the owner for decades!"

For treasure hunters, Raina Keneda named several favorites, including Odds & Ends, Hooked on Junk, and The Cookie Box. Meanwhile, Angie Trevithick vouched for the homemade treats at Homemade Goodness by Jada, and Lisa Duncan Vaughan highlighted ShortTripFarmTX, Mrs. T’s Cakery LLC, and Christy’s Secret Treasures!
