A Lubbock man was arrested after reportedly using a gun to make death threats at two people. The Lubbock Police Department was dispatched to the 1900 block of 24th Street on Saturday, October 28, on reports of a domestic disturbance.

At the scene a female victim told police that she was at a club with 31-year-old Joe Vasquez when the two got into an argument and decided to go outside. It was there that Vasquez is said to have physically assaulted the woman who then ran back into the club to call for a ride home from a family member.

KAMC news reports that later that night Vasquez went to the woman's home and pulled out a gun holding her and another person at gunpoint. Vasquez did threaten both people stating he would kill them, this did cause the female victim that was assaulted some concern as Vasquez had a history of being violent towards her.

Police did eventually find Vasquez who fled from arresting officers but he was later apprehended in the 2300 block of Avenue T. Vasquez was transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Assault Domestic Violence, and Evading Arrest. As per the publishing of this article Vasquez remains in police custody on a bond total of $53,000. If convicted Vasquez could face 5 to 30 years in jail along with a fine ranging between $20,000 and $25,000.
