Lubbock Man Dies in Accident With Semi-Truck on U.S. Highway 84

Sunday night (May 26th), a pickup truck and a semi-truck collided on U.S. Highway 84 just a few miles southeast Lubbock.

Texas DPS says the accident occurred at around 11:55 p.m. where Farm to Market Road 835 meets U.S. 84.

According to Texas DPS, the semi-truck was driving east on U.S. 84 when it struck the pickup, which was driving south on FM 835.

The driver of the pickup has been identified as 27-year-old William Byerly of Lubbock. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck, identified as 49-year-old Rodolfo Rios, was not injured.

Police are still investigating the accident.
