Lubbock Man Sentenced to 30 Years For Drive-By Shooting
A Lubbock man has pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for a June 2018 drive-by shooting.
KAMC News reports that Malachi Peppers, 17-years-old at the time, was identified as the suspect who pulled the trigger from a vehicle.
Back on June 5th, 2018, officers responded to 34th Street and Avenue W for a shots fired call. Officers were informed that a white passenger car had fired around 16 rounds then took off.
Police say that bystanders had a woman in their arms and threw her into a car then left. Soon after, police were notified the vehicle waved down an ambulance at 34th Street and Avenue W. That's when EMS transported the woman to UMC with a gunshot wound to her arm.
Police later learned that the suspects intentionally fired a firearm at the victim and her friends, as well as fired shots towards the nearby residences and cars as they drove off.
