Update: Lubbock police have identified the person who was injured in Thursday night's (March 18) shooting as 35-year-old Jose Luna. According to new details, police say the shooting was the result of an argument that got out of hand.

The boyfriend of 31-year-old Lisa Martinez got into an argument with her ex-boyfriend outside. During the argument, police say the ex-boyfriend shot the other man in the leg and then hit Martinez when she called 911.

In a clarification, the Lubbock Police Department says that Luna only suffered a moderate injury to the leg, but his current condition at the hospital is still unknown.

The identity of the ex-boyfriend has not yet been publicly released and police say he fled the scene before they could arrive.


 

Original Story: Someone was shot in the leg Thursday night during a shooting in Central Lubbock.

KAMC News reports that Lubbock police were called for shots fired at about 7:54 p.m. at a residence in the 2400 block of Avenue K.

When police arrived, they found a man with a serious gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken by EMS to University Medical Center and his current condition is unknown.

Police are still investigating the incident and have not named any suspects. KFYO will bring you more information as the story develops.
