Is Lubbock really one of the most dangerous cities in America? Well, depending on who you ask—and what Facebook group you're in—you might get some pretty heated opinions. But now, the Lubbock Police Department is giving locals the chance to see the truth for themselves…with a little help from technology and a Tahoe patrol unit or two.

Are We Really That Dangerous?

If you really want to know what's happening on your street, don't rely solely on social media hearsay. Instead, check out the Crime Mapping tool on the Lubbock Police Department’s website. It’s completely free and incredibly easy to use.

How Does the Crime Map Work?

Just pop in your address, and it’ll show you a map with all recent crimes reported within a one-mile radius. You can click the icons to get the scoop on what happened—everything from burglary to vehicle theft to more serious offenses. You can even zoom out to look at the whole city if you're just feeling nosy.
