- Nightmare on 19th Street takes over the Lonestar Event Center now through November 1st. Four haunted houses, creepy midway fun, and West Texas’ biggest Halloween scare.
- Phil Wickham – Air1 Worship Now Tour comes to United Supermarkets Arena on October 15th at 7:00 p.m.
Jurassic Quest x Brick Fest lands in the Lubbock Civic Center Exhibit Hall October 24th–26th. Expect giant dinosaurs and giant LEGO fun.
BubbleFest returns to Science Spectrum on October 18th (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)—a family-friendly event mixing bubbles, art, and science.
Silly Science Carnival at Science Spectrum for younger kiddos (18 months to 5 years) on October 29. Costumes, crafts, games.
Spooky Science Carnival on October 30, also at Science Spectrum. Halloween fun that’s spooky but safe.
Cactus Theater hosts For the Good Times: Tribute to Ray Price on Thursday, October 2 at 7:30 p.m.
West Region Rodeo / TRAPS Workshop & Rodeo happens October 22nd–23rd here in Lubbock. Park & recreation professionals and rodeo action mixed together.

What’s Coming in Sports & Culture
October is shaping up to be a busy month. In the sports world, the MLB Wild Card games are still going on, and Game 1 of the World Series kicks off on October 24. The NHL season starts next Tuesday, and NBA tip-off is set for October 21.

Abbott Elementary returns, SNL opens its 51st season this Saturday, Grey’s Anatomy and 9-1-1: Nashville come back October 9th, Elsbeth and The Chair Company debut October 12th, NCIS returns on the 14th, 9-1-1 on the 16th, Tracker on the 19th, and Season 4 of The Witcher lands on Netflix October 30th.

October also brings a few holidays: Yom Kippur is the 1st and 2nd, Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples’ Day is on the 13th, and of course Halloween lights up the 31st. For fun side holidays, there’s International Beer & Pizza Day on the 9th, National No Bra Day (yes, that’s a thing) also on the 13th, and National Cat Day on the 29th!
