One of the Lubbock Police Department’s Finest K9s Is Retiring [Photos]
Riki the K9 retires
Joining the Lubbock Police Department at 4-years-old, K9 Riki retired today, Friday, July 6, 2018. Instead of chasing bad guys, he now gets to chase tennis balls.
During his time at the department, Riki served as a narcotics K9 unit, assisting in numerous drug seizures and the apprehension of suspects during work patrol.
According to an LPD Facebook post, Riki will remain in the care of his handler Corporal Gruner, now spending his time lounging around and enjoying the retired doggy life.
Thanks for your service to Lubbock, Riki -- enjoy your retirement!
