Lubbock Police Respond to Carjacking, Frenship Under Lockout
Lubbock Police responded to a carjacking that occurred at North Guava Avenue and Loop 289 at around 7 a.m. on Monday, December 16th.
LPD's Public Information Officer Allison Matherly says that the suspect, who is dating the victim, asked the victim to pick them up from the Bingo Express 1 at 3601 North Loop 289. After meeting, the suspect began driving the vehicle to multiple areas of the city.
They met a second suspect with the intention of dropping them off and meeting with additional people.
When the victim told the first suspect they wanted to leave, the first suspect pulled them out of the vehicle and indicated the second suspect had a gun. The second suspect entered the vehicle on the driver side and began to drive away, and the first suspect chased the vehicle and entered it on the passenger side.
Officers were in the area near Frenship schools as part of their investigation, leading to a lockout at 4 Frenship campuses. The lockout was lifted at around 11 a.m.
This investigation remains ongoing.
