Lubbock’s South Plains Mall Welcomes St. Nick to Grand Court
Lubbock, it’s officially that time of year again. The lights are going up, the air is getting chilly, and South Plains Mall is rolling out the red carpet--or maybe the red-and-white fur-trimmed carpet--because Santa Claus has arrived to kick off the 2025 holiday season in grand, jolly fashion!

Santa will be set up in his winter home in the Grand Court, ready for smiles, photos, and probably a few last-minute wish-list upgrades.
A Lubbock Tradition You Can’t Skip
If you grew up in Lubbock like I did, you probably have at least one slightly awkward, slightly adorable childhood photo with Santa from the South Plains Mall. And that tradition is still going strong!
Visits with Santa are always free, which is amazing. If you want to take home the memory (or send it to grandma, who WILL ask), photo packages will be available for purchase.
And this year, the mall has packed the calendar with festive themed days:
Santa Paws Mondays (4–7 PM): Bring your fur babies. Yes, even the ones who bark at inflatables.
PJ Parties Tuesdays: Show up in your most holly-jolly pajamas. Matching family sets HIGHLY encouraged.
Baby’s First Wednesdays: Tiny humans meeting the Big Guy for the very first time--have your cameras ready.
Cowboy Claus Returns: Dust off your boots and hat — Santa’s going full West Texas again, and honestly, it fits him.

Santa will be there daily through December 24th, so you have plenty of time--but let’s be real, opening weekend always hits different.
More Than Just Santa — South Plains Mall Is Holiday HQ
South Plains Mall continues to be Lubbock’s unofficial “meet-up spot” for everything from first dates to Cheesecake Factory cheat days. And with the new flagship Dillard’s, plus favorites like H&M, Hollister, Pandora and all the dining you could want (looking at you, Bubba’s 33 and your delicious fish & chips!), you can knock out Christmas shopping and dinner without ever moving your car.

Bottom Line, Lubbock…
Santa’s here. The holidays are officially ON. Grab the kids, grab the pets, grab the pajamas--and let’s make some memories!
