Thanksgiving is almost here, and if you’re like my tubby butt, you’re already dreaming about the food. Whether you’re a turkey fanatic or you’re all about the sides, one thing’s for sure--everyone has their favorite dish they can’t wait to pile onto their plate!

To get in the spirit, we asked folks in Lubbock to share their ultimate Thanksgiving side dishes, and the answers didn’t disappoint!

For some, it’s all about keeping things classic. Pam Jones, Cynthia Washington, and May G. Rodriguez can’t celebrate without dressing—and let’s not forget the cranberry sauce! Speaking of classics, Tom Taylor swears by Praters stuffing and sweet potato casserole, while Stan Brewer keeps it simple with mashed potatoes.

Others are bringing a bit of family tradition to the table. Britta Tye shared her love for her grandmother’s dressing recipe, proving some dishes just taste better with a side of nostalgia--and love. Meanwhile, Adam E. Gonzales is very much like me and is all about deviled eggs and ham!

And let’s not forget the desserts! Christopher Bueno chimed in with his favorite--homemade banana pudding. That’s right—Thanksgiving isn’t just about pies; a good ol' Texas naner puddin' gets some love too!

Then there are the folks who kick it up a notch. Lynda Rogers makes stuffing with mushrooms, 'chop meat' (whatever that meat is, I have no idea!), and cranberry sauce, a dish that sounds as fancy as it does delicious. Pamela Mitchell keeps it sweet with a classic sweet potato casserole, while Merrillee Fry-Wells sticks with stuffing as her must-have.

So, what’s your go-to Thanksgiving side? Whether it’s sweet, savory, or somewhere in between, one thing’s for sure: Lubbock knows how to feast!
