Lubbock's P.E.T.S. Clinic (2207 34th Street) has reached a major milestone in a short amount of time, performing over 500 spay & neuters since their opening on June 1st, 2020.

P.E.T.S Clinic had originally planned to open back in March, but was delayed due to COVID-19, the ruiner of everything. They've clearly made up for the lost time by performing these crucial surgeries for Lubbock area pets.

Not only do spay & neuters prevent pet overpopulation, but they can also prevent certain infections, cancers and behavior problems, according to the ASPCA:

  • Your female pet will live a longer, healthier life. Spaying helps prevent uterine infections and breast tumors, which are malignant or cancerous in about 50 percent of dogs and 90 percent of cats. Spaying your pet before her first heat offers the best protection from these diseases.

  • Neutering your male companion prevents testicular cancer and some prostate problems.

Contrary to popular belief, spay/neutering is not shown to correlate with weight gain, and it's not a good idea to let your female animal have 'just one litter.' One litter can be a large number of dogs or cats that may never find a home or may lose their home after their cute puppy/ kitty phase wears off.

P.E.T.S. Clinic is obviously quite popular, so if you could utilize their low-cost spay/neuter or vaccines, be sure to book your appointment now so you can get in as soon as possible.
