A Lubbock legend is turning 75 — and you're invited to the party!

In Business in Lubbock Since 1950!

Tom’s Tree Place, a staple at the corner of 34th Street and Slide Road since 1950, is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this Saturday, April 19, with a full day of fun, food, and family-friendly festivities, starting at 10:00 a.m.

This isn’t just any anniversary celebration — it’s a Texas Treasure Business Award (TTBA) Open House, marking Tom’s Tree Place as one of the few businesses in the state to earn the honor of operating continuously in the same location for over 50 years. That’s right, they’ve been helping Lubbock grow — literally — since the Truman administration.

The Celebration

To kick things off, they’re hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids starting right at 10:00 a.m., so make sure to get there early. For easy access, families are encouraged to park just east of Tom’s Tree Place in the old TG&Y parking lot. The east gates will be open bright and early to welcome eager egg hunters and their families.

But it’s not just about the eggs. There’s something for everyone — and yes, lunch will be provided. It’s a chance to meet the folks behind one of Lubbock’s oldest businesses, stroll through the beautiful grounds, and celebrate a true West Texas success story that’s been planting roots and making memories for three quarters of a century!

A Staple in the Lubbock Community

Tom’s Tree Place isn’t just about trees — it’s about community. For 75 years, they’ve helped shape the landscapes of homes, parks, and businesses all across the South Plains, one tree and one garden at a time.

So gather the family, mark your calendar, and make plans to be part of the celebration. Whether you’re there for the egg hunt, the food, or just to say “thanks” for 75 years of service, you’ll be part of something special!

We’ll see you Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Tom’s Tree Place — and don’t forget to bring your Easter baskets!
