Man Arrested for Assaulting/Burning Elderly Woman in Hereford

A man has been arrested after an elderly woman in Hereford was found with burns and other injuries to her head and body.
KAMC News reports that Hereford Police were called to the 100 block of Nueces Street for reports of an assault. This was at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14th.
On arrival, officers located a 79-year-old woman with burns and other injuries on her head and body. She was flown to Lubbock with life-threatening injuries. Her current condition is unknown.
44-year-old Cortney Brannon was arrested for Causing Injury to an Elderly Individual and was booked into the Deaf Smith County Jail. The relation between Brannon and the victim is not known at this time.
