Man Arrested For Firing Gun While Drunk in Downtown Lubbock

A man was arrested Sunday night and accused of firing multiple shots in downtown Lubbock. Lubbock Police say shots were reported at about 11:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Texas Avenue.

25-year-old Akayus Houston, who lives at an address in Plugerville, Texas, is the man police say fired two shots in the air after getting into an altercation outside a business.

Houston was arrested for carrying a weapon, drug possession, public intoxication, and for discharging a gun in public.
