If you were to ask me what restaurant I think should come to Lubbock next, I would absolutely say Wahlburgers, and here’s why: burgers, and the Wahlbergs.

That’s it. I think that is all you need to know to agree with me that it would be a fantastic addition to the city of Lubbock. I could just stop there, but I will give you some more information.

The only Wahlburgers location in the Lone Star State is in Frisco, Texas. That is a good five-hour drive from Lubbock. Frisco also hosts another business that I think should come to Lubbock: Ikea. But we can talk about that another time.

The first Wahlburgers location was opened by Paul, Donnie and Mark Wahlberg in 2011 in Hingham, Massachusetts. The Wahlbergs grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, so it seems fitting that they chose their home state to open the restaurant.

The business has not only expanded to 19 other states since then, but has even been introduced to a few other countries. They have locations in Canada and Germany, with plans to open in New Zealand and Australia as well.

The menu includes a wide selection of starters, sandwiches, salads, and, of course, burgers. Something that grabbed my attention is their dietary inclusivity. They include not only options for those that can’t do gluten, but they also have an Impossible Burger option. As a vegetarian myself, it is fantastic to see options like this included in a restaurant’s menu.

Even though they have the opportunity to crank up their prices due to their celebrity brand, it’s actually pretty affordable. Now, it’s not standard fast-food burger affordable, but I would say the fact that most of their burgers are under $11 isn’t bad for a celebrity-owned establishment.

You may be curious as to why I decided to share this. Well, Mark Wahlberg announced the opening of their newest location in Springfield, Massachusetts on Tuesday, and asked where they should open their next location.

So, this is my answer. Mark, if you’re reading this, I expect a call soon to discuss making this happen.
