Mother Learns the Hard Way That the Lego Store Is Not a Babysitting Service [VIDEO, POLL]
It's not easy finding good help to watch your children these days.
That may be the defense of a Hempstead, New York woman who's in big trouble for leaving her 7-year-old son unattended in a Lego store in a mall for an hour-and-a-half so she could go shopping.
Police arrested Patricia Suarez, 44, after she dropped off the child at the mall store earlier this week. The store manager eventually discovered the boy looking scared and called authorities.
Juarez finally came back to the store and was promptly arrested. She's been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and an unrelated warrant for petit larceny.
Family members claim Juarez had no malice in mind and believed the store's workers would keep an eye on the boy.
